If you need a spouse visa, both you and your spouse must meet a range of eligibility criteria and should intend to live together in the UK once the visa is granted.Your spouse must be aged 18 or over and should be one of the following:A British or Irish citizen

A holder of protected status as a refugee or humanitarian protection
Someone with permission to stay in the UK as a stateless person

You and your spouse meet the minimum financial requirement

How Do I Prove I Am Eligible For A Spouse Visa?
You will need to provide a wide range of documents to demonstrate that you meet all of the spouse visa requirements. This will usually include:Documents that verify your identity, such as your passport, former passports and biometric information
Proof that you are married and that your relationship is genuine, from documents such as shared utility bills, joint tenancy agreements, evidence of time spent together and communication between you
A statement from your spouse giving details of your relationship
